Practical guide · networking with continuity

Your first 30 days in GBO.

Start with a specific need. Get to know the community, choose a first experience and follow up on conversations that matter to both people.

A practical guide to move at your own pace. Adapt it to your goals and the activities available.

Four stages to find your place

You can start from anywhere in Spain through GBO Link. Our physical venue is in Madrid; check each activity listing for its location and format.

Days 1–3

Find your bearings and introduce your work.

Begin by thinking about how you want to take part. The GBO Link entry page lets you create an account or sign in. If you register, confirm your email to continue; then review the options available with your access.

Explain what you do, who you work with and what you are thinking about now. Choose the professional information you want to share and check that your links add context. You do not need to tell your entire career story.

Before moving onCould someone who has never met you understand your work and why they might talk with you?

Your next actionWrite a brief introduction and review the terms of your account.

Days 4–10

Define a need and something you can offer.

Replace a broad aim such as “make contacts” with a question another person can understand. Also consider what experience of your own might be useful to them.

Explore the profiles and spaces available with your plan. Look for common ground in an activity or challenge, read the context and explain why you are asking for an introduction. Contacts and replies are not guaranteed.

Before moving onCan someone give a specific answer to your question? Can you contribute without sharing confidential information?

Your next actionPrepare a question and an offer you can explain in a few sentences.

Days 11–20

Choose a first experience.

Check the available activities and choose one that fits your purpose and schedule. Review the format, location, price, intended audience and terms before registering.

During a conversation, listen to what the other person is trying to resolve. Explain your context, ask questions and leave room to listen. If there is shared interest, agree on a small next step; ask permission before introducing a third person.

Before moving onHave you confirmed the participation conditions? What could you learn even if no collaboration follows?

Your next actionChoose a suitable activity or prepare your introduction while you look for one.

Days 21–30

Keep your commitments and decide what comes next.

Follow up where there is mutual interest. Use the agreed channel and the tools your access permits; retain useful context without storing unnecessary personal details.

Share what you promised and allow time for a reply. At the end of the month, review what you have learned, where you can contribute and how you want to keep taking part. Compare memberships on their actual fit for you, rather than expected outcomes.

Before moving onHave you kept your commitments? Do you know which conversation or activity you would like to continue?

Your next actionChoose a realistic next step: another conversation, an activity or a membership review.

Account, membership and activity: three separate decisions.

Understand what you are choosing before proceeding. Current terms in GBO Link and each activity listing determine access.

Free account
An entry point to introduce yourself and explore your options. It does not provide full access to every tool or make all meetings free.
Memberships
Each plan has its own benefits and terms. Check the available features and whether they suit how you want to participate before subscribing.
Activities
An account does not confirm a place. Check registration, capacity, cost and eligibility for each activity. Thrive Clusters has its own availability and conditions.

Your network starts with a conversation worth continuing.

Use this guide to prepare. Enter GBO Link to review your profile and your actual participation options.
